The Sea Cortez fishery provides an abundance of angling opportunities from big game billfish offshore to light tackle roosterfish inshore and much more. East Cape Guides™ delivers a variety of unique angling experiences on the water customized by our clients. Here are the guide services we offer:

 

Offshore Big Game

We tackle offshore bruisers (billfish, tuna, dorado, wahoo) on heavy gear (50-130lb tackle) from a 28ft deluxe cruiser. Trolling is the game here with top-of-the-line gear from Shimano, Avet, Calstar and Seeker. Your guide will instruct you on billfish bait and switch techniques on 50lb. standup gear but you never know when that big blue marlin will take down one of your trolled lures and then we move up to 130lb. tackle in the fighting chair.

 

 

Inshore Light Tackle

Our inshore fishing on light tackle can be some of the funniest angling on the East Cape. Fishing with 15-40lb tackle from a 23ft super panga, you will be trolling live mullet for monster roosterfish, casting topwater plugs for jack crevalle or vertical jigging for amberjack.

 

 

 

 

Surf Fishing

Cruising the beaches searching for roaming roosterfish and jacks is a religion on the East Cape. These incredible predators will chase bait fish right up on to sand and that is when we are ready with either spinning or fly gear. Presentations are few and far between but when you hook one of these combed speedsters in the surf you will understand what all the the fuss is about...

 

 

Spearfishing

Learn the art of hunting the reef with a pole spear targeting snapper, grouper and jacks. Experienced spearos can venture into blue water for tuna, dorado and wahoo. From beginner to expert, we have you covered. Read more about spearfishing with us.
