Travel Checklist

 

Don't forget that passport, sunblock and polarized sunglasses!

Important

Proof of Citizenship - A passport is required for entry back into the USA.

YOU MUST HAVE A VALID PASSPORT.

 

 

Gear

Hats - boonie hat, baseball cap or visor

 

Sunglasses - polarized with leash

 

Flash Drive - 16GB for storing digital photos and videos

 

Money Belt - storage for passport and cash

 

Shirts - 2 long sleeve technical, 4 tees, 2 short sleeve dress (light colors recommended for all shirts)

 

Shorts - 4 pairs and swim trunks

 

Footwear - light boat or tennis shoes, water shoes

 

Outerwear - light rain jacket with hood and light technical pants

 

Backpack - small backpack to bring on the boat

 

20 oz. Tumbler - stainless double walled for hot and cold beverages

 

Toiletries - sunblock SPF 50+, lip sunblock SPF 30, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, eye drops, pain reliever, aloe vera lotion, personal medications, Deet free bug repellent, hydration packets, small first aid kit, seasickness medication (Bonine and Transderm Scop® patch recommended)

 

Snorkel Gear - mask, snorkel and fins or you can rent from the hotel activity center

 

Rolling Cooler - Igloo or Coleman, no larger than 70 qt. You also have the option of purchasing an airline approved cooler from our fish processor. Most airlines have a 50 lb. maximum for all luggage without incurring an overweight luggage charge.

 

Gallon Ziplock Freezer Bags - 1 box for transporting fish fillets to restaurant

 

Duct Tape - 1 roll for securing your cooler at the airport

 

Black Sharpie Pens - 2 pens for labeling your ziplock bags

 

 

Money

Credit Cards - Although some businesses in Mexico accept credit cards, most transactions are done in US dollars or MX pesos outside the hotel. You do not need to exchange US dollars to MX pesos as dollars are widely accepted in Southern Baja. Also, ATMs are available at the hotel and in town dispensing dollars and pesos.

 

Here are some US currency denominations recommended for your trip:

 

30 – $1 bills for small tips

 

10 - $10 bills for bait

 

10 - $20 bills for boat tips and souvenirs

 

It is better to have extra cash than not enough for your trip.
