Located two blocks from both Hotel Palmas De Cortez and Hotel Playa Del Sol, The Smokehouse provides Van Wormer Resort's guests with the best flash frozen, vacuum sealed and smoked fish product available. Their quality process of using natural smoke from imported sugar maple and hickory woods, sea salt, organic honey and brown sugar creates a great all natural product. It makes a great gift straight from Mexico for friends and family.
How it works:
Smokehouse staff will be waiting for you at the dock at the end of your fishing day.
A Smokehouse representative will ask you how you want your fish processed:
OPTION 1: Filleted, Vacuum Sealed and Flash Frozen
OPTION 2: Filleted, Smoked and Refrigerated
(REMEMBER, smoked fish processing takes two days)
Your whole fish weight will be weighed and noted by the Smokehouse representative, so you can compare it to your total fillet fish weight.
You will need to write your name, hotel, room number and sign a fish processing card. You will receive a claim tag receipt with your confirmation number.
On your departure day, have your ground transfer driver take you to the Smokehouse, you pick up your fish, pay all fish processing charges and off to the airport.
Also, the Smokehouse does provide airline approved, insulated fish boxes. Save some money on those cooler luggage fees and just buy a fish box.
